Super Hit

"Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3" delivers a solid horror-comedy with a gripping twist. Kartik Aaryan leads the way with excellent performances, making it a must-watch for Diwali!

The Good thing about Movie
  1. Kartik Aaryan’s outstanding performance as Ruhaan/Rooh Baba, keeping the film grounded and entertaining.
  2. Strong performances by Vidya Balan and Madhuri Dixit, especially in the iconic dance-off.
  3. Well-crafted twist in the climax that surprises and adds depth to the plot.
  4. Stunning visuals and production value, with higher quality compared to previous installments.
The Bad thing about Movie
  1. Pacing issues in the middle of the film, where some jokes and comedic punches fall flat.
  2. Underdeveloped character arcs, particularly for Triptii Dimri’s character.
  3. Abrupt placement of the dance-off between Madhuri and Vidya, which feels out of place.
  4. Missed opportunity for supporting characters like Sanjay Mishra and Rajpal Yadav, who are underutilized.

Story: Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 Movie Review. In a haunted mansion, Conman Ruhaan, posing as a ghostbuster Rooh baba (Kartik Aaryan), is challenged by two malevolent forces that test his ability to survive and think critically.

Review: In keeping with the franchise’s theme, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 also contrasts a spooky haveli with a hidden past with an innocent, sly protagonist. The owners are unable to sell the century-old mansion and restore it to its former splendour because of Manjulika’s frightening presence within. When the royal family runs out of resources, they turn to Rooh Baba for help. After accepting the lucrative offer, the scammer finds himself embroiled in a mess after coming across two malevolent entities posing as Manjulika.

Another horror comedy follows in the wake of Stree 2’s smash success. Following his 2022 success, Anees Bazmee returns to helm BB, replacing Priyadarshan, who directed the Akshay Kumar original (2007). The structure of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is more like a comedy with some horror elements. The break from Priyadarshan’s psychologically tense theme is understandable, as ensemble comedies have been Bazmee’s speciality (Welcome, No Entry). The film’s high point and one of its best scenes is a specific scene centred around a superstar.

Though it does have a static phase where the comedic punches don’t quite land as much as they should, BB3 keeps you interested and never gets boring. Because of a well-considered twist in the climax, the story takes a long time to build up, but the wait is worthwhile. You don’t anticipate it at all, and the creators are successful in giving a large entertainer a mature and sensible spin. Not to be overlooked is the art direction. Compared to the earlier installments, the production value is higher.

Kartik, who plays Ruhaan/Rooh Baba again, serves as the movie’s anchor. He owns the role and has the most on-screen presence. The women have been a strong backbone and crowd-drawers in this franchise, despite the fact that it is a Kartik Aaryan show. The well-known actresses, whether it’s Madhuri Dixit and Vidya Balan in this movie or Tabu in the last one, are stunning and scene-stealing.

Vidya Balan returns to the franchise with this film, following her excellent performance as Manjulika in 2007. Her eyes speak for themselves. Madhuri Dixit is Vidya’s companion, and the two of them are like fire and ice. Madhuri is a sight to behold with her stunning dance moves, powerful presence, and million-dollar smile. The hype is justified by their famous dance-off in Ami Je Tomar, where each performs a different classical dance style, primarily Kathak in Madhuri and Vidya, a fusion of Bharatnatyam and Odissi. In terms of dancing, it’s difficult to compete with Madhuri, but Vidya pushes herself skilfully. It seems a little abrupt where the song is placed.

The captivating performances and striking aesthetics, however, more than make up for it. Sanjay Mishra, Ashwini Kalsekar, and Rajpal Yadav are all incredibly talented and should have been given better lines. The character arc of Triptii Dimri could have been more fully developed.
Despite its ups and downs, BB3 is what you would expect from a family-friendly Diwali show. Keep the climax a secret so that other people can enjoy the movie as well.
