South Indian Veteran actress Pushpalatha Passes Away in Chennai on February 4 at the age of 87. Reports say she died at home from health problems related to her age after receiving medical care for a while.

Pushpalatha was born in Mettupalayam, Coimbatore, in a Catholic Chettinadu family. She is the fifth of eight siblings. She started learning classical dance when she was nine years old and became skilled in Bharatanatyam. Pushpalatha’s acting career started with a cameo in the 1955 film Nalla Thangai. In 1962, she had her first main role in the film Konga Nattu Thangam.
Throughout her impressive career, she acted in over 100 films, including well-known ones like Sarada, Paar Magaley Paar, Naanum Oru Penn, Yarukku Sontham, Thaaye Unakkaga, Karpooram, Jeevanaamsam, Dharisanam, Kalyanaraman, Sakalakala Vallavan, Simla Special, and Puthu Vellam. She acted in Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam films and appeared with famous actors like Sivaji Ganesan and Rajinikanth.
